Impertriz
- Located on the border line of the State of Tocantins, Imperatriz is sought out
by ecotourists who find various choices of trails in the region. In the summer,
tourist fill the city to see the beaches formed along the Tocantins river and
the São Domingues and Santo Antônio waterfalls, located just a few kilometer
for Imperatriz.
Lençois
Maranhenses - Dunes
of clear, whitish sand, almost 40 meters high intermingled by fresh water of the
lagoons. From time to time, the sand mountains change due to the wind action. In
short, the landscape of Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses, an area of
155000 hectares which comprehends the cities of Barreirinhas, Humberto de Campos
and Primeira Cruz, is simply amazing.
São Luís – Brazil’s culture and history get mixed in the "Brazilian Jamaica" as it
is known. Although the reggae is very popular, there are uncountable rhythms and typical folk dances of the city that are already part of the
brazilian traditions, among them there’s the Bumba-Meu-Boi and the Cacuriá. Registered by UNESCO as Mankind Cultural Patrimony, São Luís also
has on its historical center one of the major sets of colonial epoch houses.
